How DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen lives its Code of Values to be a leader of remodeling franchises

DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen’s Woman of the Year Andrea Buck gives her acceptance speech for DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen’s Woman of the Year award

For many companies, a published code of values is nothing more than a marketing tool. However, at DreamMaker Bath and Kitchen, one the industry’s leading remodel franchises, the Code of Values is something that is lived out each and every day. We put these values into action by treating everyone with respect, by acting with integrity and continuously operating with a customer-focused mentality.

One team member who exemplifies the DreamMaker Code of ValuesTM is Andrea Buck, Office Manager at the Rochester, Minnesota, franchise. She so faithfully adheres to the Code of ValuesTM that she was named DreamMaker’s Woman of the Year for 2016.

Her teammates, who nominated her for the award, say that Andrea always treats others the way she would want to be treated. She uses active listening to help figure out what’s needed when working hands-on with clients, always digging deeper to find out what a client’s unspoken remodeling needs are. She has the ability to get people to open up in ways that most people are not able to.

For example, an aging-in-place client would not listen to recommendations on what needed to be done to keep him safe and in his home. Andrea took over and was able to get him to open up by starting with how he could be safe while in the shower. She made the client feel special and gave him a remodeling project that not only made him happy, but also enabled him to live more safely in his home.

Professionalism

Andrea is always on top of her game when she meets with clients. She makes them feel important, like they’re the only client the company has. Her teammates say she naturally embraces professionalism, which allows her to conduct business in a friendly yet efficient manner.

Leadership

Andrea exemplifies leadership through her loyalty, having been with the Rochester, Minnesota, DreamMaker franchise for over 10 years, through the highs and the lows. At one point, when the franchise owner had to take a leave of absence due to triple bypass heart surgery, she jumped in and picked up the slack. She does what needs to be done to ensure every job is done properly. During this time, Andrea even invited the owner to stay with her and her husband so that she could care for him while his family was away, preparing heart-healthy meals to aid in his recovery.

MVP status

In these and countless other ways, Andrea Buck has been a key player in her DreamMaker Bath and Kitchen location’s success. She is an MVP and truly deserving of the the Woman of the Year award.
