Tips for Discussing Bathroom and Kitchen Remodels With Customers
Remodeling any part of a home requires a significant investment for the homeowner. And while this does mean financial investment, there is more to it. Remodels give homeowners a chance to achieve their dream space.
So, it is vitally important that you navigate initial conversations about kitchen and bathroom remodels with respect and patience. We wanted to help you confidently approach conversations, so we gathered a few tips. Keep reading to discover how to talk to customers about bathroom and kitchen remodels.
Do’s
Have samples ready to show. Customers will want to know that they can trust the quality of your work. Make sure you can show them your skills, to help put their minds at ease.
Give them options. Customers want to know that the world is their oyster and that you can provide them with exactly what they want. Explain the process clearly. Use easy-to-understand language so the customer can clearly understand each step.
Ask questions. Remember, this remodel is their pride and joy. Find out what they would like. A handful of open-ended questions will give your potential customer the feeling that you’re not just another remodeler looking to make a buck. And it will provide you with some information to suggest remodeling options for them to consider.
Give them time to answer. A little silence is not a bad thing. It gives the customer time to provide a thoughtful answer.
Don’ts
Avoid pressuring them. It may take some time to make important decisions. Make sure to keep your suggestions to a reasonable amount. Too many options will only overwhelm your customers, and may make them reconsider the entire project.
Never assume. You may think you understand the customer’s taste when you first see their space. But they may surprise you!
