The DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen remodeling franchise is booming. Average franchisee revenue was up more than 23 percent in 2013, and average revenue was up double digits again in 2014. Meet DreamMaker franchisee Steve Betts
Steve Betts was a banker before he became a remodeler; he made the switch in 2006 and says it was a great career move. He owns DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen locations in Lubbock and Amarillo in Texas and was working for a family-owned bank when he learned about DreamMaker. Steve had helped the bank manage properties, so he knew about hiring and managing contractors. He was handy, sure, but he had never been a professional builder or remodeler. So what convinced him to start a remodeling franchise?
“I always wanted to own my own business. Over the last year or two I was at the bank, I worked with the person who had the DreamMaker franchise in Amarillo. He told me he loved DreamMaker, that it had transformed the way he did business and he was making good money doing it.”
After a tough few years during the recession, his business turned a corner in 2013 and began to grow very quickly. “It blew past my long-term goals for what I hoped the business would do,” he says. You can read a profile of Steve here.
